About Us
Wolf’s Head House
Our Story
When the Eras’ oldest daughter was still a toddler, they were introduced to Classical Christian Education by a former professor and pastor at our church. The model and method of CCE seemed to be the best education to train their children in the fear and admonition of the Lord. From there they were both involved in the Classical school their church was starting, Ryan as a board member and Rachel as a part-time teacher. When they relocated to Niagara, they decided to classically homeschool their children. As they pursued this in their own family, they had the privilege of leading a group of like-minded parents as they sought to grow in their own parenting and education.
As a team, we are passionate about encouraging and equipping parents in their challenging job of raising Christian children. Wolf’s Head House has grown out of that passion. We believe there is a need for parents and other adults like ourselves to get a robust Christian education in the liberal arts. We believe education is not about acquiring a piece of paper but about learning wisdom and discernment. We want to build on the ruined foundations and desire to see Niagara, Ontario, and Canada in submission to Christ, people with families and churches who know God and His standard and love Him and His Word.
Mission Statement
Wolf’s Head House seeks to provide adults with foundational training in the liberal arts from a robustly Christian perspective, equipping them to lead and train the younger generation, shaping culture to the glory of God.
Our Vision
…for our students:
We desire to provide Christian adults of all ages and educational backgrounds with the opportunities to review, discuss, and carefully consider the historic ideas, movements, events, and assumptions that have shaped Western civilization. We also desire to provide young adults with an alternative to the mainstream Canadian post-secondary system.
We desire our students to earnestly seek to honour and glorify God in the pursuit of wisdom and discernment, to be equipped with the tools of learning so that they may think clearly, persuasively articulate their beliefs and opinions, confidently lead the next generation, and joyfully submit to the standard of Scripture, see everything in the light of Scripture, and build a culture that is founded on Scripture.
…for our staff:
Model the same expectations that we have for students, understanding that they are role models for our students, to love and know their subjects well and love their students, be students of the Bible and continually growing in their faith, and be students of good books and model diligence in study.
Our Commitment
We are committed to a part-time model, offering courses in the evening and on weekends so that students can work and pursue other areas of life.
We are committed to working with those who recognize the need for further education and are committed to the same standards but may not be able to afford it. While education is not free, we are committed to making it as accessible as possible.
